You can make burgers too - either with beef mince or turkey mince. Chop and fry onion (and red or yellow peppers if you like them) till lightly browned, add to mince, add flavourings you like - I do a beef or chicken stock cube, a little salt and pepper, beaten egg to bind, tomatoes (tinned or fresh chopped), make it up as you go along. Scoop up a ball of the mix, squash into burger shape, dust with flour (plain is best) then pop into pan and fry both sides gently till done.
Good thing with making burgers - kids can help too, they love the 'hands in' approach, and as long as hands are clean then that's fine!
Hmmm -rice. Others have given you recipes for egg fried, try also adding onion, peppers, chopped cooked chicken/turkey, ham or bacon, mushrooms, really anything you like and have in the fridge/store cupboard.
Shepherds Pie - either beef or turkey mince, onions etc as before, mashed spud on top, grated cheese on top of that - yum yum. Make 'mini' ones for kids, they love having their own special one.
Just give it all a go - you'll be fine!:T0 -

I bought some fish in butter sauce, didnt think my daughter would like it but bought it anyway, also i have tons of rice in the cupboard boil in the bag and cooked that, mixed it with steamed veg, so that is what we had for tea yesterday and my daughter loved it, she ate the whole lot that i put on her plate.
now i have tons of rice left with the mix veg, which i have put in a casserole dish and put it in the fridge, does anyone know if i can re-warm the rice in the microwave and eat it?0 -

Absolutely, but make sure its PIPING hot before eating
You can also freeze it, it would be good with a curry sauce maybe? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
