I need a new (as in new to me, but used) car. Thinking Megane size, so perhaps Golf, Megane, Fabia, Focus etc. Dont want to spend any more than about £5K, and hoping it will last a while, so probably not older than 2005-2006. must be diesel. Renaults 1.5 diesels are expensive to insure and often suffer many annoying expensive faults including constant EGV valve fouling, VW have head gaskets made of soft Butter, look on the hard shoulder, every second car is a VW, the diesel focus will require and expensive £1500 clutch repair every 60,000 miles.
Diesel is more expensive than petrol so that cancels the economy out these days.
Small engined Petrol is the New diesel
