JSA after 6 months

Can someone tell me what happens after being on JSA for 6 months? My husband got a letter yesterday to say his JSA was stopping as he has been on it for the maximum number of weeks, no-one at the jobcentre told him this would happen, can we apply for anything else?

Your husband must of been on Contribution based JSA and this lasts for a maximum of 6 months.

Depending on your circumstances he may be able to apply for income based JSA, this will be based on whether you work, household income and savings.

He should be able to sign on for his NI contributions whilst looking for work if your income is too high.

Current couple rate is approximately £105 so if household income exceeds this by £10 you won't be entitled to a top up through JSA.

If your income is low enough you may qualify for HB and or Council tax benefit (CTB)

Yes it is too high, as the other poster says, couple rate is £105 a week, £20kl equates to a lot more than this.
