After living in my property for 7 years i have just received my first electricity bill for the whole 7 years! I have had no previous contact from the supplier.
Can they charge me for the whole amount, can any of it be written off due to the length of time?
I have been told that if it is their fault then they can only charge me for a year, is this true?
Any help and advice of what to do next would be greatly appreciated as the bill is huge!

Did you not even wonder why you wasnt getting billed, and if yes did you dont enquire as to why you wasnt billed?0

Where you so proactive in finding out how to pay for your electricity as you are in finding out how not to pay for it?0

Set up a repayment plan for the money you owe.0

How can they be at fault if you never tried to contact them0

I do try to be helpful but the OP is seriously takijng the p*ss - assuming (as appears to be the case) that the OP has never contacted the supplier0

so for 7 years you did what? Did you not even occur to you something was not right, and that you wasnt being billed?
So you seem to be active enough finding out about being only charged for a year, yet wasnt active enough to do some research to find out who your energy supplier was.
Funny old world, I suspect your either think you can get off scot free or a trollaestiva2006 wrote: »After living in my property for 7 years i have just received my first electricity bill for the whole 7 years! I have had no previous contact from the supplier.

Congratulations for getting way with it for 7 years. You still have 6 years to pay for, as the statute of limitations does not kick in for 6 years. :rotfl::rotfl:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
