Condenser Dryer - water tank full indicator on constantly

Hello
Wonder if some knowledgable person out there could help me. My condenser tumble dryer no longer heats up. I have cleaned all the filters but the red indicator light is still on to say watertank is full. I phoned the machine manufacturers and they wanted to charge £90 call out and repair fee or could do years cover for £14 per month.
Not really wanted to spend out that sort of money at the moment as I was trying really hard not to use the tumbler but was nice to know it was there just in case.
I did wonder if it was the thermostate but then why would the water tank full indicator light be on all the time??
Anyone got any ideas/solutions?? PLEASE

Hi
Until recently I had a condensor dryer. The red light sometimes stopped on ours even after emptying water. Have you got rid of all the fluff that builds up, and the thing that you can pull out that isn't the water catcher (not very technical sorry don't know correct names:o ) have you pulled that out, cleared all fluff, ran some water thru it, and put your hand in gap (electric off, just in case) to see if there is any fluff build up there. When we used to do this, the red indicator light used to go off.
If after this the light goes off but the TD isn't getting warm then it may be your thermostat. This is what has just happened to ours and since we have had it repaired twice already we bought a new model this time.0 -
Thanks for that. Yes I pull out the thing that converts the warm air to water (sorry dont know technical name either) and defluffed as much as I could. Maybe I will bring that in and let it dry out on the radiator and try and hoover and remaining fluff out.0

Not familiar with a condensing Tumble drier, but in a dehumidifier the water tank has a float mechanism that indicates when the tank is full.
It is not unusual for that to stick and give a full signal when it is empty.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
You should be able to pull out the condensing unit. We flush ours through in the garden with a hosepipe. Takes a lot of flushing!!0
