Credit Card Over the Limit Fees

Thanks I have done an SOA and will listen for any replies but I am in a very sticky situation, which I am aware of.
I am very careful but have a lot of difficult things to take into consideration...
I can't have an IVA or similar on my credit report as I can lose my job over it
I have to have a car for my job
My daughter goes to one of the cheapest nurseries in the area (£52.50 a day!)
I do regular meter readings
Compare insurance prices, weekly shopping etc
Wish I could have a haircut/go on holiday etc!
I cannot extent my credit limit until I have paid the £31 overdue on my account which I have paid off and will have to re-contact them next week to try and get it extended.
Also I had no choice but to move house as my previous Landlord was not paying the morgage and it was about to be repossesed!Emily :A0 -
I have never in my 10 years with MBNA have gone over the my limit, until today, by accident, and by less than 2£ and this was their interest on a CASH transaction!
I have been trying to call them for 3 days with no luck.
Anyone have any ideas if we can complain about the 12.50 charge and the 30+£ interest now being charged.!
Why not send a secure message via their online service or why not make a payment via the online service to reduced the balance back under.
Going by the amount of people who have posted on the forums, normally if you contact them and it is your first offence, they are decent enough to remove or reduce charges made.
You have to take responsibility for going over, it's up to you to manage your account better, therefore instead of going in all guns blazing, you need to be humble and pursuade MBNA that you are/have taken steps to prevent it from happening again. Afterall you can hardly complain when you have gone over the limit.
Length of having the card means nothing with financial companies these companies are not your best buddies, they are there to make money out of you, whether you have been with them 30 days or 30 years.0 -
I am a bit confused now. I thought the idea of the new rules was that making the minimum payment will always reduce your balance, although not always by much.
* The 'estimated interest next month' is based on certain assumptions...the balance remaing static, and minimum payment received on the due date being the two main assumpions.0
