Hi guys
Just bought a new laptop (Acer Aspire 5742Z) to discover that I can't burn CDs using iTunes - I get 'attempt to burn disc failed error 4251'.
I think the driver is a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ890AS
I've given it a quick google to find some rather dodgy-looking sites advising 'download this - it will sort it all out'.
Can anyone advise what the likely cause of my problem is. And how to fix it.
Thanks

Googling the error message shows it is a common problem for 1000's of others, and the only common denominator is that POS known as iTunes.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0

Here's a possible workround then. I use some other software, e.g. windows media player to burn my discs. Is there an easy way of getting another application to read my iTunes files? Are they incompatible formats? Can they be converted?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Yeah. It's happened a few times now. It's irritating because it renders the disc unusable (I don't have re-writable ones). I've been through about 5!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Quick bump. Am I stuck with a laptop/iTunes combo that means I can't burn music?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

OK, thanks. How do I get another app to read iTunes files? Is a converter available? Then I can move them to say, Media Player, and burn from there?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
You could try these instructions.
If you already have Nero burning rom then it's a little simpler.
I thought all apple products "just worked"

Yeah just use something other than iTunes, such a bloated disaster that program.
Imgburn should work:

If your music is in .aac format rather than standard MP3, then you may need codecs:

If you want to convert AAC files, then either of these are nice programs:
fre:ac - free audio converter (better as a CD ripper IMO)

Pazera Audio Extractor (great for getting audio out of video files)

as above, may need codecs.0
