Filo pastry - How to make it?

Hi there Sages.
I am wondering whether anyone has ever made filo pastry rather than bought it. Is it easy to make? How is it done? Is it worth the effort (as I suspect its a bit like flakey)?
Any advice would be gratefully received please.

Please - don't even bother. I have made it (a lovely day with a Greek neighbour) and its a nightmare and not a patch on shop bought. She says that the family even buy shop bought frozen packets.
She did learn how to make "processor" pastry from me however and a lovely suet crust for steamed beef pudding and can now make scones for the first time in 40 years. But I guess some things are worth making and some not quite so much.
