First Direct..?

Hi

I am thinking about switching banks and have heard a lot of good reviews for family and friends regarding FD.

I have 2 credit cards, Littlewoods, Studio and Orange on 24 contact and pay every month without fail.

How high does one's credit score have to be to get an account?

Any help would be appreciated as it would be pretty pointless me trying if I don't even meet the criteria:rotfl:

Not really sure how high your credit score has to be... I applied for one and got it fine, had a few credit cards in my time (paid everything on time) never had any missed payments on my mobile phone bill/credit card and never been into my overdraft... I think you need to earn a certain amount though (or hold a select product with them ie: savings, credit card)

They do not use credit score alone. They use their own confidential criteria.

But I can testify that they are an absolutely brilliant bank. I wouldn't change them for the world.

I suspect your credit history will need to be 'spotless' but in addition, your salary will need to be substantial enough and be paid into FD - rather than your existing bank.

I put down and said I was self employed (which I am as well as a student) and put an estimated salary of £6000 on and they accepted me - not even been 18 a year and got a good credit history thanks to littlewoods, jacamo and my vanquis card.
Would also say that unless something major happens I will not be moving banks in the near future, and if you know a friend that's a customer they can get £50 for referring you as well as you receiving the £100.

I'm waiting for my remortgage to go through and then I'm going to move over to First Direct (if they'll have me!)

If you go to the referrers board and get an MSEr to refer you, you could get an extra £25 for opening your account. Have a look here
