Is it just me or is 2nd class post taking longer than usual?
I am thinking about changing all my auctions to first class because of this.

Yep, and it is getting lost.
I had about 15 things go missing in a space of 3 or 4 weeks. I switched to 1st class a couple weeks ago (which I usually do towards Christmas) and since then (*touch wood*) haven't had a single thing go missing.0 -
My post is hit and miss, regardless of whether or not I use 1st or 2nd class.
I did send a package to Norway on Thursday which arrived today, which I think is fair amazing!

Somone was in the local paper last week saying how they'd just had a package arrive from Aurtralia in 3 days!0 -
I'm not sure it actually makes a huge difference. I've had 2nd class mail posted to London (from Scotland) in the afternoon arrive the following morning, and 1st class post take a week or more.0

I have posted two items by special delivery next day (1300hrs) guarantee. One arrived next day at 1530 approx and other arrived on the 2nd day.
I think I maybe able to make a claim for a refund on the cost - has anyone done this?0 -
I've never claimed a refund for late SD mail myself, but you should be entitled to a refund. I think there are a few remote parts of the UK where the 1pm next day guarante doesn't apply though.steve1905 wrote:I have posted two items by special delivery next day (1300hrs) guarantee. I never use 1st Class if 2nd is an option. Especially at this time of the year, I don't think the posties have time to sort the packets into slow piles and fast piles.
Like CMP says, 2nd class reaches Scotland from SE overnight, even when posted at 7.30pm!!!
