Breakfast at Manchester Airport - Terminal 3

We are flying from MAN to LAX in September, via CDG, with Air France.

As far as I can tell, the flight from Manchester departs from T3, which from the brief amount of time we spent there last year waiting for a BA flight down to Heathrow I seem to recall is absolutely rubbish for food - we ended up with sandwiches from Boots for dinner!

Does anyone have any suggestions on what options there are at T3 for breakfast? The airport's website shows a couple of bars and an Italian restaurant but none of those sound promising for breakfast items.

A couple of years ago we would have just travelled over to one of the other terminals to eat after checking in, but with most, if not all, of the decent food places now only accessible to passengers flying from that particular terminal, I think we might be a bit stuck.

Eating at CDG isn't an option either I don't think, as we only have about 70-80 minutes between flights so will likely be pretty rushed as it is.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah I just looked! Looks like Costa is your best option?

If you do need to eat at CDG make sure you have a few Euros in your purse otherwise youll have to draw some out ( I had to do this in Frankfurt, when flying to Japan) 80 mins however is more than an hour adn youll have time to grab something I suspect although Ive never changed in CDG, maybe there are baguette places you can grab smoething? Not ideal though. i like a nice leisurely breakfast before long-hauling.

Am trying to picture the walk between terminal 1 and terminal 3, is that the large bridge with windows on both sides and a long travelator?

    This Ive come to know...

I'd take some sausage butties from home, if I were you. There's very little in T3 and what there is is very expensive.

Costa Coffee or Delice De France would both be fine for breakfast in Terminal 3. Coffee and pastries, you can't go wrong!

T1 is only a few mins walk from T3 and there's a couple of places before security where you can get a bacon butty (Greggs) or a full breakfast (Joe's Kitchen).

Don't count on eating at CDG either. I wanted food last month when we had a connection and it wasn't great (terminal 2E I think). It's fabulous if you want a Prada or Dior handbag, some caviar and bottles of very expensive French wine. However, for food it is terrible and overpriced. I assumed it would be easy to grab a baguette or something but no. We ended up paying 25 euros for 2 pieces of quiche, a glass of wine and a small can of beer. Oh, and 15 euros for 6 macaroons. There was the worlds most uninspiring food place upstairs, worse than a motorway service station here, an illy coffee bar that had a few sandwiches and the quiche place which was some sort of pretend green and healthy thing.

Thanks for the suggestions! We try to have a bit more than a coffee and pastry if we can to prepare for the long flight and poor food ahead, so looking for more of a cooked breakfast if possible.

That Joe's Kitchen in T1 looks promising but the airport website lists it as being in arrivals rather than departures/before security - is that right? If so, is it easy enough to get to the arrivals part of the terminal just to eat? I think it must have been a few years since I flew from T1 and I'm struggling to picture it in my head.

Another couple of alternatives I was looking at are the Runway Brasserie or the buffet breakfast @ Phileas Fogg in the Radisson, both of which are off the skywalk between T1 & T2 and from what I have read a little better than the generally poor airport breakfast fayre found elsewhere. We should be at the airport at least 3 hours before the flight, possibly earlier to ensure we avoid any rush hour traffic, so I think we'd have time to walk up there but is it too much of a hike? I remember a few years ago trying to walk from T2 to T1 (again, to get something decent to eat - we are ruled by our stomachs LOL) and it was a lot further than we had anticipated.

Re. the poor food at CDG, that's disappointing to hear - you kind of assume that France = great food but I guess even they can't do it right in an airport! I stopped off in a French motorway service station once a few years ago and was similarly disappointed :(

Joe's Kitchen is located in Arrivals but from there, you can easily access the covered walkway which connects T1 and T3. This walkway is at ground level - not like the skywalk between T1 and T2.
