British Gas are a disgrace of a company. They're turning into what Powergen used to be, a vile dispicable company that cares only for money and not for people.
Thank god E.On took over to Powergen and turned it into the first class company it is becomming. In my opinion, anyone who goes to british gas is a short sighted fool.
In certain industries I think it's ok to have call centre staff in india, but something that can be as complex as energy supply, morons.0 -
I have a service contract with British Gas.
Had my yearly check up done early last month.
The first engineer was useless - didn't know anything about our boiler, didn't check radiators, just asked us if we had any problems with any (which I didn't realise we had till 3rd guy came) the 2nd was a bit better, but had to order parts, the third was really good, and everything was done within and hour. All this actually took 3 consecutive days - time wasn't a problem, as there is always someone here. The engineers did ring and say they were going to be late, in fact the call centre rung on one occasion as well.
I gather from the 3rd guy, the problem is that the first people sent out are sub contractors, and they may not have knowledge of all the boilers. I had explained which boiler ours was - call centre obviously knew best!!!!!
What a shame the 3rd guy wasn't the first one to come out - would have saved them time and money.0 -
My 72 year old father was with bg(for gas) for 50 years until he went in to a residential home in august where the residents do not need gas,so he cancelled his contract with them.He was £40 in credit then two weeks later they took another £15 direct debit out of bank account, they have told him every two weeks since september they will send him a cheque but he is still waiting. We got energywatch on to the case 5 weeks ago but still no joy.British gas seem to think they can do what they like!0
