Quidco Cashback - Buildings and Contents Insurance

You will see on Quidco at the moment that you can get £125 cashback for Home insurance from Barclays. It states "per application" - is there anything to stop you doing your buildings and contents separately with them (assuming that their pricing is competitive)? Alternatively, you could buy your buildings from them and contents from Lloyds TSB (assuming that it tracks!) and get £120 from them as well - could bring your insurance down by £240 before you start?

Hi
Yes there is nothing stopping you doing this although i know in general most people will use one company for Buildings and a different one for Contents however this can then increase your overall premiums as there are generally good discounts to be had by having B and C with the same insurer.
Also dont forget to ensure the insurance meets your needs as you are insuring the most expensive thing you will ever buy and the odd £100 from Quidco may pale into insignificance against a claim for 10's/100/s of thousands of pounds0 -
I have split contents and buildings with Barclays twice ,one for me and one for my dad and got payment with no problems, just do one on one day and the other the next and clear your cookies between as well0

As per above I did the same a couple of days apart and received my payment from Quidco today! I also invoked their price match deal which says they will reduce their price by up to £100.00 to match your previous company and give you £50.00 for changing. However you need to accept the online quote ( to get Quidco cashback ) and when you get the paperwork call them up if it is more expensive and ask them to pricematch. I did this and got £50.00 cashback aswell. My house insurance for this year now costs me £14.50 for the year!!! Result. Good luck0

Hi,
I really fancy doing the above.
What did you do go through the quote and delete the contents insurance quote then a few days later go in and do the same and delete the buildings insurance quote?
At what point do you bring the price match into play? Im alittle worried if done too soon it will void the quidco commision0 -

Quidco (or any other cashback/rewards site) pay out on actually taking out the policy, not quotes. You would therefore take out, say, buildings insurance then clear cookies, go back through Quidco etc and start a brand new quote for contents.
I am not sure about the extra £50 price match as my renewal is not due until February (and Quidco site says you cannot have both) ... but rose28454 seems to say you can.
