I downloaded the free games from Dixons onto my laptop, they are showing in my downloads, but they won't install. What have I done wrong? :o

What happens when you try to install them?

    It's a three-stage process:

    1) Download the game, it will show as <something>.exe in your downloads.
    2) Scan <something>.exe with MBAM or your chosen virus scanner.
    3) Double click <something>.exe to install

Omit step 2 at your own risk!

I guess you could also say Omit step 1 at your own risk, i.e. it's not always safe to run programs that you don't remember downloading ;)

It asks for permission, then looks like it's going to, then nothing.

A quick google shows that others are having trouble installing some of the games (sega pack, medieval total war). You'll have to ask Dixons or http://www.ztorm.com/.

Also make sure it's not a firewall issue - temporarily disable the firewall to see if it's blocking the verification they use.

Ok, tried firewall, still the same, an 'Unidentified programme warning' which I allow. I'll contact Dixons, thanks.
