Irritating Calls

I have been receiving numerous calls on my mobile from what I guess is a sales company using an automated dialler - I never get to the phone in time before they hang up (normally two to three rings) so I presuming this is what is happening.
I normally would'nt get wound up by it but I have received at least three calls during the middle of the night and early hours over the last two days. I have phoned 3 customer services who were predictably useless and advised me they could do nothing.
I know of one other person this has been happening to and wondered what I can do about it - I am registered with TPS for my home phone but I did'nt think this was for mobiles.
Any suggestions?

In the meantime, is it essential for you to keep your mobile switched on overnight? I switch mine off last thing and switch it on when the alarm goes in the morning. In fact, many such 070 personal numbers cost 50p per minute to call from a BT landline and vastly more from a mobile.
Don't return any calls to numbers you don't recognise and NEVER to numbers which start 070!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
