Leaving Incapacity Benefit

Hi, does anyone know if there are still any incentive schemes to get off incapacity benefit?

I've been on IB and IS for a few years and am about to get off them and go into self-employment, but I can't find any decent information on what help might be available.

I don't anticipate being able to make any income for the first few months (at least), so have been trying to find out if I can claim anything - I found some sketchy info about working tax credits, HB and CTB, but I was sure they used to run incentive schemes to get the long-term sick off incap.

Tried asking at the job centre but they told me to use the online benefits adviser, which was not even remotely helpful - asked at the citizens advice bureau, but they didn't know either - and the government business link adviser told me to ask the job centre! Grrrr.

Any help would be appreciated :j
