    I really do not think there is a requirement or purpose for it.

    If the gas is earthed elsewhere & the water what difference does it make? None.


    So long as the combi is earthed internally so the casing doesnt kill you under fault conditions external earthing to it is pretty much pointless if its done elsewhere.

    Great - thanks a lot guys. Keeps my mind at rest. Was going to get someone in to add the bonding for safety.

    'Kay. BTW earthing and bonding are not the same thing. The point about bonding is to keep everything that is bonded at the same potential. Its nothing to do with earthing.
