Its £10 minimum - what is hard to understand?

I think the op's point was that he requested £5 and it declined him but then gave him two £5 notes. Whats hard to understand his point?

The bank of england are producing more £5 notes due to public demand. Too right they should!!

I thought the lack of £5 notes in circulation was precisely because so few cash machines get loaded with them - I those saying there are a shortage of fivers have cause and effect backwards
    I think....

At uni we had a cash machine that allowed a minimum withdrawal of £5! It was always stocked and a life saver many a time! there should definitely be more around!

Do you think it would have allowed a withdrawal of, say, £15?

£5 notes are in short supply these days thats why most have a £10 min

I don't understand your logic. An ATM machine holds, for example, 1,000 fivers.
    • With a £5 minimum, that means that 1,000 people could each withdraw five pounds.
    • With a £10 minimum, that means that only 500 people could withdraw five pounds, because they have to withdraw at least two fivers to get what they want.
How does increasing the minimum withdrawl help increase the supply of fivers? If anything, it makes them more rare, because people need to take out two each time, when they might only want one!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

That doesn't make sense if it means someone who only wants one £5 note is given two!
