Barclays reserve charges

Hello. I used to be with 'The WOOLWICH' until barclays took over. When i joined the WOOLWICH, i specifically asked for NO overdraught and had 11 or so problem free years till barclays took over! all of a sudden I had a RESERVE which i never knew about and ever since this RESERVE which i stray into accidentally hits me with a £22 pound charge every time. I am currently on INCAPACITY BENEFIT and have been for the past few years so i can ill-afford any charges like these (I got hit with 4 £22 pound charges this month and the same last month). Is there any way i can ask for these charges back as i feel i have been WAYLAID by BARCLAYS who I feel never made it clear to me that the 'WOOLWICH' takeover would result in me having a RESERVE. I neither asked for OR wanted this RESERVE. Please help, THESE CHARGES ARE CRIPPLING ME! THANKS A BUNCH any advice would be very much appreciated!

You can ask for the charges back, but Barclays seem to have a policy of rejecting such requests.
Managing your money better so that you don't go overdrawn is the solution.0 -
You could cancel the reserve?0

When the accounts were restructured there was loads of mail informing people about the reserve.
The alternative it to pay the other charges for borrowing the money or have payments rejected and have the charges for late payments etc.
You can cancell the reserve very easily, as long as you are not in it, and AIUI barclays will put you on a program of reducing overdraft as another way to get out of the situation.0
