virgin to virgin calls

Hi all
Does anybody know if virgin have stopped the free calls that went from a virgin landline to a virgin landline. I always believed that if you called a virgin line from your own virgin landline, it was free, but it would appear from our bills that this is not the case. Can anyone shed any light on this before I ring them and rip them apart?
When there's a knock at the door, why do dogs always think its for them?

    But they used to.

Years ago I had 2 lines, from, at that time Telewest, one for phone calls and the other to use for dial up internet, because in those days if you were on the internet you could not make or receive calls, and if I was not on the internet my OH and I used to phone each other and chat for hours. Her downstairs, me upstairs, kinky eh!

    Now we never talk.

We still got people complaining that our phone lines were busy all the time.

so, JHP, are you saying that the only virgin to virgin free calls are only free if used in the bundle I selected? I.e. We used to have calls unlimited (XL package), then just over a week ago we dropped it to weekend calls only (M) as we only use the phone to call my mum who is also on virgin. I believed that virgin to virgin was still free regardless of the bundle. Therefore, are the calls to mum only free at weekends?

This has only been spotted by my wife when she viewed her bill online on Friday, and it looks to her like we have always been charged for these virgin to virgin calls. However, the bills are so complicated to understand that the charge may be taken off somewhere else.

You need a californian lawyer to be able to understand a virgin media bill!!!

All calls to any UK 01/02/03 landline number are free /inclusive at the weekend. Landline calls at any other time are chargeable whether your calling a Virgin number or not, unless you have a call bundle .You have cancelled yours, hence the reason your now being charged. Get the idea of free Virgin to Virgin landline calls out of your head they have long gone.;)

Here is another thing to add to this. It's clearly stated that with virgin mobile phones that you can call the virgin mobile phones for free from you virgin landline\house phone at any time. And that virgin mobile to virgin mobile calls are free to. Yet the virgin landline packages never mention any calls as free just than you get inclusive minutes depending on the package, certainly meaning other networks and countries rather than there own.

Free is at no cost or subscription. If that were package dependent then it's not free. But virgin are still offering and advertising free calls if you are calling from virgin line to virgin line. If you can find any recent documentation that states free then you have them I'd say.

I looked at the Virgin Media site landline section all it does is say that calls to Virgin mobiles are included no talk of free or inclusive. For YONKS Virgin have never suggested they offer inclusive Virgin To Virgin landline calls.

Well I dont know what your definition of yonks is but I certainly remember free virgin to virgin calls.

Another thing, if its free to call virgin landlines from a virgin mobile, surely it would pay to get a free virgin mobile sim card, stick it in an old mobile and enjoy free calls to my mum!! Am i right or am I wrong?
