247 spares wont help in getting a refund for faulty item

Options
I recently purchased a used Mass Airflow Sensor (worth £70) using 247 spares for my car in Dec'10. When I received the item it seemed to be faulty. It came with a 3 months warranty so I returned it back to the Merchant (Midlandbm Ltd.-Birmingham).
The Merchant confirmed receipt of the item in mid January and promised me for a refund in a couple of weeks time. Since then I am chasing the merchant for refund but everytime they say I would receive a refund next week. It has been over 3 months and nothing received so far.

I got in touch with 247 spares and opened a dispute. The lady at so called customer service dept, Clare, spoke to this guy at midlandbm ltd from other phone when I called up. She knew that guy very well and was very friendly with him. She advised me midlandbm ltd. would give me a ring and sort out my refund. But obviously that didn't happen.

It has been nearly 2 months after that and when I ring back to 247, they (Clare) asked me to speak to merchant directly and refused to help me. She would not talk or listen to me and put the phone down before I finish conversation.

I made that purchase using credit card but they cant help since transaction is below £100.

I'm just tired of chasing for a refund. They dont understand how much it matters for a family who works hard to earn a single pound and thinks twice before spending it. They had their item back and my money as well. Very frustrated :(
Can someone help please!!

Do a forum search. I think you will find a few people who have had problems with 247.

Doesn't help you unfortunately, but this thread may alert others to possible problems

247...why didn't you do a search? I was looking for a part a year ago...and they smelled then.
  • I have a similar issue with 247 spares. They sent me a quote for an engine from a company called K M Automotive (UK) Ltd. I paid them in full as requested and no engine. Have been chasing them daily but they dont even pick up their phone. Went to register a complaint with 247 on their website but asks for a reference no which they did not supply in ther original quote. Rang 247's premium line where they kept me waiting for an hour after which they cut me off. This company is a rip off - BE WARNED - do not deal with 247 spares as you cannot get hold of anyone, there is no email or contact infrmation on their website - which reputable company does not provide a means to complain.

Also do not ever deal with KM Automotive (UK) Ltd. Have a look at their reviews on yell.com to see the horror stories. just search google for "KM Automotive and yell" They are a rip off and will take yor money and not deliver the goods. You can email me on jsxxxxjs@aol.com to find out more
