i bought some cellulose paint off tinterweb using a colour chart to pick a red close to my original colour, however now i have it the paint is lighter/more orange than i would like.
i would like to make it darker so it matches my original pug cherry red better, can anyone recommend a way of getting it darker?
dont need it to be identical i just want it closer.
paint was mixed up to the code i gave them off chart so my mistake and as such company will not have it back.

Forget it - it'll look like an absolute dogs dinner, I can guarantee it'll end up too dark and it'll stick out like a sore thumb.. Take your car to a paint supplier and get them to do a colour match and make up either some paint or an aerosol..0

Most of them have the colour code as four letters on the top of the inner wing, eg like MOYC, or a sticker in the drivers door opening.0

If it was originally celly, especially red, it won't be the same colour as the paint code would suggest. As said above, take the petrol cap cover or something similar off and go to a paint supplier who will match it for you.0

The car is having a full respray so whole car will be in the new paint, existing colour is all faded so unable to colour match.
I thought I was buying a flame Red type of colour but it is too light.
Matching is not an issue I just want to make the paint I have a bit darker is there no way I can do that?0
