I'd also say Camelot tbh. Its much nearer. And is a good day for the whole family. Trade in clubcard vouchers for vouchers to use for admission. We used to visit BPB regularly, but haven't been once since the introduced the compulsory entrance fee or wristband. Its good but I refuse to spend that amount of money for a park that, IMO, isn't worthy of that charge.
COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:

You can use clubcard vouchers for the tower, and the pleasure beach and don't forget pizza hut, kids eat free under 11.

Big queues at AT in the summer, where are you staying in Blackpool?

Last year you could buy a refillable cup at AT for £5, so you could share this and have free fizzy drinks all day after initial spend, if you decide to go there
Starting to save £2 coins again, but it is a struggle:rotfl:Not doing very well keep spending them

I would go for the pleasure beach, alton towers is around 2 hours drive from blackpool.
Been to both with the kids and we all agree that Alton Towers is a better park, better rides, etc but my kids are over 140cm so that is why, with younger kids I would suggest blackpool esp now they have the new nicolodean land. I would personally 'save' alton towers until all your kids were over the 140cm and able to go on all the rides.
I've never eaten at the pleasure beach but we left the park, and went for something to eat and then re-entered, you just get a stamp on your hand.
I used Tesco Clubcard vouchers for our entry but sometimes you can get deals but booking online in advance, also sometimes 3 for 2 vouchers going around, not seen any yet though.

    camelots great IMO.
went 3 weeks ago.at www.realradio.co.uk(or it maybe .com?) they have a printable BOGOF voucher-£24 for 2 admissions.
food's not bad there either, and you can take in food/picnics.
AT is a heck of a journey from blackpool.
have a trip to blackpools "stanley park" its lovely ,playground/gardens/boating lake/-cafe expensive though.
  • I think the pleasure beach is better and it has bigger selection of rides and its more family faciltys and there is nickleodeon land in blackpool now for the under 9s

Your in Blackpool do Blackpool plan for AT in a few years when the kids are older IMO . No-one has mentioned Gullivers World(is it still there my kids are older now)?? OP oldest is only 9 and Camelot has had a mention too. Not too far from Blackpool and a decent drive off the M6 too. Blackpool has lots more than the fair and there are plenty of free things to do too. Have a good holiday (I used to love Blackpool as a kid)
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world

The kids are fairly young - Alton Towers I would say is better for older children, more big rides etc. It is quite a trek from Blackpool as well - I would say while you were there then do the Pleasure Beach, would you be saving as much with AT when you factor in petrol money? Also unless they have drastically changed it since I went last then at Blackpool you get wristbands for the day so can go in and out of the park as much as you want - so could go out and have a picnic on the beach or something and then go back in.
