That would depend upon a number of factors:

    How old is your son?

Does he claim benefits? - if so which?

Does He work? - If so is he on a low income?

Even if he does have to pay for his prescriptions then there are a few options to help him. For example, he could get a pre-payment certificate which would possibly work out cheaper, depending on how often he needs a prescription.
  • As stated, no one knows your circumstances, so no objective advice can be given. You would however do well to submit a HC1 form, you can read about them here and get one from the same page.

If you're asking because of his psoriasis, then the answer unfortunately is no as it's not one of the small number of illnesses that qualify. As the other posters have mentioned check any benefits he either gets/may get. The pre-payment option is a good idea too.

Your son has my sympathy; psoriasis can be a very nasty condition my hubby has the psoriatic arthritis as well so I know awful it can get.

Unfortunately PSoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis don't qualify for Free Prescriptions. Your best option is a pre-payment Certificate.

I used to use this method (I have Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis, 17 years now), until I was also Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 10 years ago, and then got all my prescriptions Free.

Not that I'd recommend Diabetes as a method to get your scripts paid for.

If you need any Psoriasis or Psoriatic Arthritis Advice I would highly recommend that you come and join PHO UK (Psoriasis Help Organisation) at http://www.psoriasis-help.org.uk/forum/index.php where you will find several thousand sufferers happy to share advice and give support to these horrible and debiitating conditions. :)
