Our boiler stopped working as kept blowing the trip switch on the fuse board so we turned off at the mains and called our insurance company as we have "emergency" cover served by Homeserve who sent out an electrician in a prompt time and he said it was the boiler and needed a heating engineer.
He contacted Homeserve (Thursday 19th at 1805) they said someone would be with us Friday to sort out the issue.
We were called Friday by Homeserve at 0800 Friday 19th to say the earliest appointment would be Saturday with no time frame??
My issue is that we have a 9Week old baby with no hot water in the house to wash our hands after nappy changes or sterilise bottles etc I have spoken to Esure our main insurane company with no joy and there complaints department haven't even phoned us back.
Can we get another plumber today and charge Homeserve??

So they're coming out tomorrow? It's a little confusing as it's 20th today, which is Friday. I can't see them getting there any sooner to be honest. It's lucky for you it's not central heating weather! Can you not boil the kettle letting it cool slightly and use that hot water, or use anti bacterial lotion, then water perhaps to wash your hands. I don't think you would strealise bottles with hot water from the tap anyway would you? That would be kettle water, or boiled on the stove, or steralising tablets in cold water. It's only for a day hun, and there's ways around these little things.

We're with Homeserve too, and they were 5 days when we needed to call them out, but it was a busy time, freezing weather, so we had to wait our turn. And wear all the crappy Christmas jumpers we'd been given!
