I am after insulating my loft. I have had a look and dont seem to be entitled to any grants. Whats the cheapest way to do this ?? Does any stores have special offers on ?????

B and Q were recently doing a 2 for 1 offer on their Knauf rockwool. Demand has been high and I had to wait 2 weeks for delivery. Not sure if the offers still on.0

Try expanded polystyrene, you can buy it in big sheets and cut it to size. It worked out cheaper for me (search around Jewsons and the like)0

rockwool = very good insulation
standard polystyrene = very poor insulation
Personally I reckon glasswool is by far the best bet. Very good insulation at a price which , I believe , is by far the best £ for £ value
Glasswool has a similar insulation value as rockwool but is far cheaper . Rockwool is denser and therefore offers better sound deadening properties which , if you don`t need it , shouldn`t be bought
IMO onlyI`m now officially too old to die young0 -

You might want to contact some of the energy companies. The grants were derisory for a while, but have heard rumours that the government have increased them.0
