When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important:D

Hi everyone

Hope you are all having/got planned fantastic DFW-days!

I plan to:
  • Check banking
  • VSP transfer???
  • Bfast and lunch from home
  • Do some sort of 'fake away' for tonight
  • Cash in £10 lotto win ticket
  • Remind boss (if I get the chance and at any chance I get!) that he's 'strongly recommending' me for promotion :T
  • Text SIL - see if I can borrow a dress of hers for a hen do in a couple of weeks ;)
Catch up with y'all later!

Happy Friday!

monring La E  thanks for starting us off! You're up early :p yay another day off  and just realised its payday :dance::dance: - obviously its virtual but still it feels good! :D

Today I need to get a lot of stuff done on my day off & want to make the most of it being my last day off for 7 days so I will:

Still need to do bathroom & spare room later.
    • Have minsumed a cupboard, donated majority of its contents to CS...

Enjoy the day off DNMS - what on earth are you up for at 7 if you're off?! My alarm has been switched off ready for a lovely rest tomorrow:T I am exhausted though, could hardly function after work yesterday - going back to the doc on Tues as this is really frustrating:o It's a year ago today since my op - and I'm not exactly where I expected I would be - huh:(

But...it's Friday and the sun is out:beer: DD2 has a friend sleeping tonight so wil give them the lounge and I'l quite happily retire to my room very early with my laptop and book - lovely.
    Ok - list for today:
    • check banking - uni bursary of £360 gone in:j:j
    • check onepoll later
    • packed lunch for dd2
    • maybe cheap lunch in coffee shop with colleagues for me?
    • meal from plan tonight - chicken wraps and hn wedges
    • damp towels on the line
    • washing off airer and upstairs put away
    • very early night
    • check ebay listings
    • sort more ebay stuff to list this weekend
    • write next week's meal plan
Well, that'll be quite enough - I'll be lucky if I stay awake after school to get it all done:D
    Have a fab Friday:)
I really need to sort out a new signature!

    Good Afternoon from sunny Thailand.

So far today I've sold a book and DVD set I bought at a charity shop for 100 baht yesterday to a second hand bookshop in Pattaya for 220 baht.

I have also redeemed my free meal card (buy 10 meals get one free) at the local English style chippie.

I'm back home now and will spend the rest of the day on the Internet, Playstation and catching up on my reading.

Not very exciting I know but I will actually finish my day off in profit.

    :)

I wake up early you should know that by now! It wasn't helped by the fact that I had some wine last night so that made me wake earlier than usual but I hardly ever sleep later than 6.30.

    Hello All,

    It's Friday :j woohoo!

Today as well as having to work (what an inconvenience!) I will also be doing the following:

    - check online banking
    - keep fingers, toes, arms etc crossed for eBay (many quality items closing today lol)
    - packed lunch
    - dinner from freezer
    - pack 2 overnight bags. One is for babysitting at their house my adorable niece and nephew all day tomorrow through to Sunday morning, and the other is for staying over at my mum's for her 60th on Sunday night. I probably won't make it on here much but I am confidently predicting NSDs or very LSDs both days as we are getting dinner laid on tomorrow as part of the deal to babysit and the presents for Sunday are already bought in.

    Have a lovely day everyone,

    Jules x

    Good morning lovely ladies,

Thanks to La E for starting us off.

Thats a pretty long list for a day off DNMS

I was away yesterday at a conference and I had a bit of an epiphany moment, whilst I should have been listening to a talk. :o As you know I am pretty miserable at the mo and really want to leave my current job. I have been busy job hunting but I am worried that I won't find anything before my contract ends here and they will renew it. So my plan is this, to leave before my friends wedding at the end of July and then I go to Oz. I will put all the things we have in the flat into storage and if I don't have a job I will move back with parents, in the South East (gulp). The way I look at it is my DH is not enough to support us both and his rent is great, includes all bills and council tax. It means I won't have the 2 month notice period that I currently have and I would be with people that love me. Not thrilled at the prospect at moving back with my parents but might give me the extra kick up the backside. Any views/comments welcome. Haven't told my DH yet . . .

    Right, so for my list:
    • Walk to work
    • Check bank balance
    • Check surveys
    • Lunch at home
    • Phone interview
    • Prepare listings for Ebay - No Listing Fees Weekend
    • See DH :j

    Have a great day everyone
    xx

    Hello my lovelies

Had a super day yesterday, literally bouncing off the walls!! Met with my old boss, got a new job starting monday for a few hours extra pay - not bad for £7 an hour :)

Today I'm not doing much, working, going home, playing with the kitten then off to bed - OH said something about going to Tesco - which is fine as he's paying haha!

Got some vouchers yesterday from clubcard - weee

Hope everyone is having a much more exciting day! xxx
