won appeal but they havent updated system

I won an appeal on ESA to go back to support group.

Great, Fantastic!!

Letter was a week ago, dated 10th May 2011.

Yet when i ring to enquire when i will see the backdated money owed to me, or when my money will go back to support group rate, i am told there is no detail of winning appeal.

twice this week i have called my local jobcentre who have emailled St Austel and had no reply, i was told to call them myself today, i did and was told that yes i had won my appeal, but they system had not been updated yet.

It may only be barely £200 owed to me, but this is money i desperately need now, bills are mounting up.

How long does it really take to sort this out?

I know I know, end of the day the longer they leave it the more they have to pay me, but that's not getting the bills paid, and those who want paying don't want to hear excuses.

I am sure if i owed them money they would be on me like a ton of bricks.

It can take up to twelve weeks, but is normally done within a month. Repeated calling will not get it done any quicker, give them chance.
    Gone ... or have I?

Send them a copy of your Tribunal letter, this usually speeds up the process.

I sent them a letter, enclosing my letter and requesting the amended award. It was sorted in about 6 weeks for me.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Thanks for all the replys.

Just to get some facts straight here, i have not repeatedly called.

Made a call earlier in the week, told to call back in a few days if not received anything or heard from anyone, which i did yesterday to be told to call St Austel myself.

We were told to fax the letter from the JCP to the office dealing with my husbands case (they wont give you the number to do it yourself) and as soon as they got the tribunal letter they logged and actioned it hth

  • Congratulations! I'm glad I didn't have any problems with ESA because Support Group was automatically awarded at the 13th week of my claim. I hope you get everything sorted and that they leave you alone to get well again. Take care :) xxx

I was in the support grp after 13 weeks, then 2 years later my atos medical, i was then moved to the WRAG.

After reading the info from the appeal, they admit they had all the paperwork, it just wasn't read. If it was they admit i would of stayed in support group.

End of the day the longer they leave not giving me what i am owed/due they more they have to pay me back, which in this day and age just doesn't make economical sense to them, and stuff me and my bills.

When all this comes back to me, i might be finally able to go and have some oxygen therapy with what little is left over.

    An update.

Received a letter yesterday telling me they had paid me xx amount.

Checked bank it wasn't there, BUT i also knew that the way they pay can sometimes take a few days, it arrived this morning.

Letter was dated 20th May, so it looks like in Bristol an average wait of 10 days, with a little bit of chasing up.

Aquiel, If you have not received your money, it seems a bit too long, and what with the double bank holidays in April this year..
