Positive feedback received, they haven't got item

OK very weird situation here.

Listed an item for free, it had to be collected & stated no one needed to bid, just to contact me about collecting it (some may remember my previous post).

So someone decided to bid, of course it then sold for 1p. As soon as they had bid I contacted them saying that it was free, they just needed to collect it, no reply.

When they 'won' it for 1p, again contacted them about it needing collecting, no reply.

Now i've received positive feedback saying 'thanks again'.

They haven't got the item, so im baffled why they've left me feedback. They also haven't been silly enough to pay me 1p through paypal.

Are they possibly hoping I'll leave them feedback as they're new & have clocked up 75 positive feedbacks since April 11, but its all for things that don't need posting, like voucher codes that are emailed etc etc.

sounds like they are building up to a scam.
If they didn't collect the item I'd leaved neutral feedback pointing out that item was never collected
    and the suspicions u have.

Sellers can't leave anything but postive feedback for buyers.

There is almost certainly a simpler explanation than that . Selling something for a 1p is what the big time scammers do to build up feedback, you 'buy' something and then a few days later leave mutual feedback and you get a feedback history, maybe they either assumed you were doing that or decided the 1p was worth risking for feedback anyway.

You have just proved that ebay were right to ban sellers from leaving negs and neuts...a neutral because you 'think' someone might be a scammer because they leave feedback on a 1p item but don't bother collecting it? Really?

I am making assumations but does this mean this ebayer could potentially not post items they're selling? They are selling numerous (not loads) of mens jeans, all idential. But without going through the feedback individually make themselves look better because of the amount of positives?

Don't always agree with you, but you couldn't be more spot on.

I thought the tit for tat was bad enough.

The seller looks like a classic feedback for sale scam, someone buys into it, and I bet they're now surprised the seller actually wants them to collect.

May be the sole purpose of him/her is to get feedback but item still need to be processed as normal to avoid paypal claims.

There are quite a few items on sale for 1p, I remember memory cards plastic cases from china/hk seemed popular at one time.
I don't think there is much to worry about, worse case scenario INR equal a return for 1p.
If you look at the items that sell for 1p, as Soolin said, you will get an idea of what they are trying to do.
Or you can look at any Chinese seller's first page of fb and I bet you will find something similar.

In my opinion the buyer is more interested in having their fb than causing problems, if they want to build an accont in that way the last thing they want is to bring Ebay's attention on themselves.

I presume selling that for 1p cost you 14p unless free listing + FVF? Is there a minimum charge?
