MS Money

We currently use a older laptop for MS Money. We now have a new laptop and I've installed MS Money onto this. However if I try and transfer the data files (using a flash drive) from one laptop to another I keep getting error messages informing me that it's a read only file.
Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer the data files from one laptop to another and an easy solution to my problem ?
Thanks in advance

I've read that and followed the instructions but MS Money informs me that it's a read only file and cannot open.0 -
What version of MS money are you using and did you change windows versions when you changed laptops0

If your using Money 2005 you need to install update before opening your data file. Have a look on http://money.mvps.org/ and search for '1105 patch', unfortunately the site was down when I just looked, hopefully Microsoft haven't closed it, if they have try Google.0

Just for reference, what version is Money 2005?Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -

Need an answer to this:What version of MS money are you using and did you change windows versions when you changed laptops
Also, one of the first things to establish is whether Money is working on the new laptop. Can you create a new money file with dummy accounts, enter transactions, exit money and then re-open the new file?Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0
