Credit Report - Should my parents debt show on my report

I have recently checked my credit report and it lists not only my debt put my parents mortgage, loans, credit cards etc and shows missed payments against these

I live away from home now .Will this be having a negative effect on my credit rating and be lowering my credit score? Experians Total debt figure is the sum of both mine and my parents , this has made me think that i am linked to there debt

is the correct? Has anyone else had this issue

A credit score is for a name, and not an address, so providing you've never had any joint financial product with your parents, then they should NOT be appearing on your credit report!

I'd phone Experian up and ask about this!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I remember (years ago !) that when I received my report I too had my parents credit linked to mine, I sent off a letter of disassociation and was dealt with quickly with no hassle.

I have the Exact same name , difference in spelling tho " stephen" and "Steven"

My father has been a garantor for a hp agreement but that was paid in full and finished now and the report shows that all is fine with that

It is there current debt that is showing as my outstanding debt , eg mortage, loans , creditcards appear on my report with details of payment history oustanding amount and regular payment amounts

Im guessing this is having a negative impact on my score then ?

yes, you need to get in touch with the credit report company and explain the difference.

you'll have worked the next bit out yourself.... if you get round to having your own kids, don't give them a version of your own name :)
