Help!!

My mate is currently on Incapacity benefit, income support and her sister has been made homeless and wants to come and live with her:eek::eek:I've told her this will affect her benefits, as her sis is on quite a good wage. Will they stop all her benefits or just the IS and council tax benefit and Housing benefit?:D:D
She wants to help her Sis but is worried how this will affect her money:(

your friends income support will not be affected, as she isn't her sisters dependant.
the housing benefit and council tx benefit will be affected though.

Unless the sister gets DLA and she must to get IS because incapacity is more than IS so there wll be no none dependant deductions.

Non dependants are only disregarded if the person with whom they're living is in receipt of the care component of DLA. If they are then Sunnyone might be right IF it's IB and IS. Some people just think they're on IB because they're sick when in fact it's IS with a disability premium. I know some who think they're on "Incomepacity" Benefit :)

Don't forget to take into account the extra money she'll have coming in to the household from her sister, who you say is on a good wage. She might actually be better off.
