Shared drain pipes

Hi,

We live in a row of 4 terraced houses and the down pipe on out house seems to serve the guttering for all 4 houses!

This isn't a big deal but f the rain is heavy the guuttering overflows as the downpipe can't cope.

Anyone know my options? I need to replace the guttering anyway as it is old so I could just put a bigger downpipe in but don't want the drain to then overflow!

First job would be to check it's not blocked - a tennis ball down there could easily cause this problem. I believe as it's on your brickwork, it's your responsibility. I live in a semi, and our front gutters come down our our side of the building, and the back ones down our neighbours.
