Beef jerky maker/food dehydrator

I'm addicted to this stuff, but at £2 a pack I'm going to have to sell my (non-existent) kids to fund my habit!
Can anyone recommend a robust beef jerky maker, or food dehydrator, which I believe is the same thing.
Or advice on how to make your own??
Thanks guys.

Suss man! Get the real McCoy and buy some Biltong! Around £30/kilo onine and £25/kg at a good butcher.
Any way a box and a 40w light bulb should do the trick or even in the summer just pop it in dry airy place and keep the flies off it.
Any way if you need to get technical here you go:-

And a Biltong Box:-

Maker:-

Looks like the one at
http://www.juiceland.co.uk/item--Stockli-Dehydrator--STNOTIMER.html
might do the trick. They're much more common in the US but seem to be becoming more available over here now.

Thanks Hintza,
Is biltong the South African version of jerky? Lots of good info anyway. The biltong maker is a bargain at £10, but about £70 in petrol! Will seek something similar out. I like the rustic look of it.
James, I have been looking at that kind of thing on Amazon; also for drying out fruit to harvest in summer, to last through the year.0 -

Yes; I find Jerky OK in small doses but generally too sweet.0
