BarclayCard Question..

in Credit cards
Hi.
I'm new to the forum so be gentle with me please!
I have a couple of big purchases coming up in the next month so I decided to take advantage of the 0% interest offer available on some Credit Cards.
I first applied to M&S. After a couple of weeks of waiting, hearing nothing and time running out before I had to make my purchases I decided to apply for another card.
I chose Barclaycard. After going through the application process I was disappointed not to be offered the 12 month interest free period but only 3 months.
Oh well, I accepted the offer and awaited my card.
As sods laws dictates, I recieved a letter in the post the very next day from M&S saying my application for a card was successful!
I don't really need the Barclaycard now..
So onto my questions:
1. If I now change my mind and withdraw from having a Barclaycard will it affect my Credit Rating?
2. If I phone Barclaycard and say I no longer want an account (The card has arrived already) becuase I didn't get the year interest free, is there a chance they will change their offer?
Thanks in advance for any help!

No harm in trying. Just don't spend what you can't afford to pay off after the 0% period!Late_To_Bed wrote: »Hi.

1) Your account will show as settled on the report and that you used to have a barclaycard. The net effect will be that your report will show you are now less exposed to debt.
2) Give it a try although barclaycard are playing hard to get at the moment so may just call your bluff.0
