Nationwide Faster Payments

...don't seem to be very fast today?

I've been waiting nearly 3 hours for a transfer I made to a HSBC account - money has left my account but hasn't appeared in theirs. Anyone else having problems with this system? :(
Bank Accounts - HSBC Advance Current Account, Nationwide Flex Current Account, Lloyds TSB Basic Account
Credit Cards - HSBC (£2000 limit), Vanquis (£1750 limit), Capital One (£800 limit), Barclaycard Initial (£260 limit)

  • I sent a payment from Barclays to Nationwide this Morning - It normally says something along the lines of "Faster Payment Received and will be credited within 2 hours".

This time it just says "Faster Payment Received" with nothing else - I checked the account online and it still had not been credited, this normally credits within seconds of sending these so I think something is up!

I just hope it's not gone via BACS!

Click 'payment outcomes' - but do so with 24 hours of the payment since it only stays up that length of time. This is a 'list' of all payments that have left Nationwide as faster payments in the last day. If your payment didn't go as a FP then it won't be listed (and vice versa)

I just realised that since Nationwide's changeover time is 8.30pm any payments before and after this time each come under a separate day's Faster Payment limit.

So, having made a payment to myself for 1000 earlier this evening, I have just made another payment for 1000 again. The dates 'out' aren't important - what counts is their arrival had the same date 'in' at the destination account - today's...

This is a handy trick - together with the use of future dated standing order (1000 in addition to single immediate payment) and additional accounts (each current account has a separate daily limit)
