MY OH got £50 for keeping his open. Every little helps. Glad you're feeling more settled in your home.

DH actually asked about it when he called but all he got was some waffle about it being refunded interest payments and as we hadn't been paying interest we didn't get anything.
Well, the garden project got finished yesterday afternoon and so far, no comment from next door. Just need to get some plants to pretty it up a bit but it's a relief to have it done to be honest. The garden now feels a lot more private and secure.0 -
I tried to talk to DH yesterday about saving for our new home - if we can save £100 a month for the next six months we should have £2.5k saved by the end of the year. I tried to break it down to small chunks, lets just concentrate on June, we need ten ways to make £10, it's manageable, we can do it...but all he kept focusing on was the bigger picture, how can we possibly save that much every month? It was so frustrating as I thought he was really on board with saving now we've got the new budget and no credit cards but it was like he just couldn't be bothered . Oh well, I'm off to photograph some things for eBay - maybe I'll just make the £100 on my own .0

Got 11 items listed on eBay last night including three pairs of children's summer sandals which seem to be selling well at the moment. I also have a box full of children's summer clothes to iron (well at least make look a bit more presentable in the photos) and photograph. The next round of de-cluttering is also going well with a pile of cardboard boxes sent for recycling on Friday, a big bag of clothes for charity collection on Wednesday and several things going via Freecycle over the next few days.
I got some exciting news about a potential windfall on Sunday - it could come to nothing or it could mean we'll be a lot closer to our £5k target in the new house pot!0 -
Ooh fingers crossed for the potential windfall

Eeek, another £15 gone from the grocery budget but hopefully that will be it for the week. That leaves me with £10 plus about £15 of Tesco vouchers which will hopefully arrive before I need to do any more shopping!0

Tesco vouchers arrived yesterday, £14, which should top up the remaining tenner of the grocery budget to give me a reasonable amount for next weeks shop.
DH got a letter today from HMRC telling him he underpaid tax last year and now owes nearly £500 . The fools haven't sent out the paperwork with all the calculations on though (although they stated they had done in the letter), so until that arrives we can't actually confirm the figures are correct. Lets hope it works out that he owes less, not more .
On a happier note, it seems increasingly likely we're going to get an unexpected inheritance of around £3k. So when that comes in we should only be about £600ish away from our £5k target in the new house pot :j.0 -

Bah, I've just had to refund someone on ebay for a lost item. I'm always suspicious about this, I'm certain they're just making it up (maybe I'm being too harsh ). So that's £9 off my signature.
Also spent another £7 on grocery shopping today.

Slightly disappointing eBay sales over the weekend. Only two items sold and then for not as much as I had hoped. I need to get the remainder relisted and sort out some more things to list.
Off to do some grocery shopping soon, hopefully I can stick to budget and get a weeks worth of meals for a little under £25!0
