Phew, credit card sorted. DH called them to explain and apologise, so they've waived the fee and reinstated the 0% period. DH also found out that the deadline for the extra work he's been doing has been extended so it doesn't all need to be completed by the weekend - hopefully this will de-stress him a little.0

That's good news.

Feeling a bit down about all things money related at the moment. It's been quite a spendy month (all on eBay, using money made from eBay sales, and mostly essentials for the children), which has been making me feel quite uncomfortable. I feel guilty for spending when I know we're trying to pay off debt and build up savings and save enough money to be able to drop the asking price and sell the house more quickly.
The trouble is that we're (I am) trying to do too much, too quickly. In just over a year our expensive loan will be paid off (sooner if possible but that's another thing to try and save for!), which will give us some extra cash to throw towards the mortgage or savings or the other debts.
Except we want to move now, which means we need to find some buried treasure/win the lottery/sell a kidney or just act like grown ups and accept the fact we won't be moving for at least another 18 months/2 years.0 -

I've just had our weekly catch up phone call from our estate agent, telling me how bad the market is and hinting that we need to drop our price by at least £10k to even think about selling.0 -
Grrr, just got the renewal quote through for our dogs insurance and it's almost doubled from £17 to £32 a month!!! We need to keep it though and stick with our current provider as she has some existing conditions which we will probably need to claim for in the near future, which wouldn't be covered if we switched to someone else. Need to go and do some sums and try to stretch the budget a bit :-(0

Just did some tweaking and if I shave £5 a week off the grocery budget (taking it down to £45 a week - eep!) we can cover the increase in the pet insurance and have a tiny(<£10) buffer in the bills account. We've been talking about ditching Sky and going to Freeview and I think this will be the trigger for us to actually do it, especially if they're putting up their prices in September.0
-
i'm also thinking of cutting the sky off as everything is going up, unfortunately dh's wages aren't though (at least not in line with everything else) our current deal (£16.87 per month for entertainment +) ends in November i think so will look to cut it off around then -or maybe keep for xmas and then get rid in Jan!
