Good news about the potential purchasers!

 about the postage though. I've done some spectacular ones in my time - once I paid someone about £5 to have my item, and the other time I undercharged by £12.50  luckily the sale price meant I wasn't out of pocket, but still!

I've had quite a productive morning so far. Got the sewing machine out and hemmed some of the childrens trousers and some of the childrens old cut-up terry cloths for DH to use in his shed. I also cut up and hemmed the last of the childrens white muslins, so I now have an even bigger pile of kitchen cloths - I'll never need to buy kitchen roll or washing up sponges again!

I'm impressed how well the children behaved around the sewing machine actually - no stitched fingers and minimal shouting. Normally if they see something new, making noises and with moving parts they don't leave it alone!

I'm now having a relaxing coffee and a few minutes on the laptop before I tackle the hoovering, then I need to pack up some breakables in to boxes ready for the next charity shop collection.
  • that is the exact reason my sewing machine went away lol, my children would drop whatever they were doing and run over to investigate, usually i'd end up messing up whatever i was doing as i'd be trying to keep eyes on the 2 kids and something always went missing lol ...roll on september when ds2 starts nursery and i can have some quiet time to do these things! xx

Finally, someone else who can't wait for school! Everytime I say this, I get told that I won't know what to do with myself and I'll miss them and wish they were back home! Err...no. I might miss them but I'll certainly enjoy some child free time :j

Why do charities not want bric-a-brac anymore? The only one in our area that puts bags through the door and will accept toys, ornaments etc. is British Heart Foundation. Do the other charities only want clothes because they use outside agencies to collect who can sell them on for more money? It's very annoying when you've got a pile of stuff to go and no collection bags will take it! SIGH I suppose I'll just have to get off my backside and actually take it to the shops :-(

Time to stop procrastinating online (awww, but I've just found a new blog that I want to read through, starting in 2009!!!) and go clean the kitchen floor.

Lovely weather yesterday, so pottered in the garden and it's a good job I did as today is rainy, rainy, rainy. Normally I like this weather, I'm definately a cool weather person, but today I need to go to the post office (with twins in tow), so fingers crossed it stops later.

Feeling a bit twitchy this morning, like I need to do something pro-active towards money making. There are no surveys (bah - I only need one more from MySurveys to be able to claim £5 through PayPal) and nothing left to go on eBay. I don't even have anaything left to Freecycle or declutter! May have to go and put away the huge basket of childrens clothes I washed yesterday and hope that satisfies my "must go and do something" tendancies :-)

MIL coming round this morning, so today will be a bit spendy. We'll probably go to a local garden centre that has a free soft play area for the children but this'll mean putting petrol in the car and buying coffee (and probably cake!). Still it'll be a nice day out and hopefully wear out the twins.

Didn't make it to the post office yesterday - really must go today - had to wait in for a parcel. Good job DD found the card stuck in the letter box or I'd have gone out and missed delivery again. That'll be more spends then, but if I've weighed everything properly it should only be £3.30.

Doing well on eBay this month - £134 at the moment! Even after fees and some postage costs I should have enough to cover this months savings targets and pay a bit off the credit card (which I added up the other day - I owe it nearly £100! Eeek). Unfortunately a large item of furniture didn't sell, so we need to figure out whether to keep relisting it, keep it or give it away.
  • well done on the ebaying. I very nearly bagged everything up this morning i had left to sell and brought it to the charity shop! I'm sick of looking at it on my bedroom floor every morning there are bags and boxes everywhere! :( ! Think will have to wait for a quiet few hours then just put it all on ebay for 99p and not care what it gets (but i will make sure i at least cover the postage as like you i have majorly undercharged many times and ended up with pennies to show for all my hard work!) xx

That's what I'm doing with everything I've got left - it's on for 99p (with the exception of one fancy silk top which will get listed for a fiver on a free listing day) and if it's not sold by the end of the month it's going in the charity shop pile.

My last eBay bits will finish on Friday and then that's it for the forseeable future, I literally have nothing else to sell! So July will be dedicated to figuring out how to bring in some money - surveys and grocery challenge I imagine. Once our holiday is over the pressure to save will be less - I don't actually need to save for anything, other than peace of mind. I do have a large-ish box of winter stuff waiting to be listed but it'll probably be October time before that goes on eBay. August and September will hopefully be relaxing months as long as we can avoid overspending during the summer holidays. :)

On a less positive note, the people that came to view our house the other week, still haven't put theirs on the market (they live locally and I check RightMove every day!), so it doesn't look like we'll be getting an offer from them any time soon. Oh well, financially our hands are tied until our loan is paid off but if we're still on the market this time next year we'll definately have to reconsider the asking price (and maybe even throw in the towel and just aim to break even). :(
