  • eBay buyer arrived last night on time - we're now £50 better off and have a lot more loft space (don't think he was expecting to get the item packaged up in two large boxes but at least he'll get it home safe and sound!).
  • a 5 star service, lets hope the feedback reflects it!

Still feeling a bit gloomy about our finances but I'm trying to do something pro-active even if it's not actually making us any money. I've 'cleaned' up my bank accounts and written letters to get some unused accounts closed and while the twins have been napping I've been ironing some eBay items which have bids on them, ready for packing up at the weekend. It has helped a bit - makes me feel a bit more like I'm contributing towards our overall goal of debt-free-ness :)

Busy day tomorrow with doggo at the vets and our first day at the village baby and toddler group, so today is going to be a lazy one (although I suspect I'll end up trying to get everything ready for tomorrow morning so we can get out of the door easily).

  • Sadly all was not well with doggo - it was a large and aggressive bone tumour which had almost eaten away the top of his leg. With very few options we decided not to wake him up from his anaesthetic. Very sad day here.
  • Just got back from a week away and read your sad news, sorry to hear about your dog x hugs x
  • oh no :( i'm so sorry to see the news about your doggo :( big hugs xxx

  • Feeling a little better here - still adjusting to being a one dog family :(

Financially, we had a very good weekend on eBay and made over £50, however I have spent some of that on clothes for the children and some things for Christmas. Still have some things listed so hopefully by the end of the month I should be able to pay at least £50 off the credit card.

Not sure what the credit card balance is going to be by the end of the month as we have the vet bills to pay. Most should be covered by insurance but not all, so I'm anticipating about £100/£150 increase on the balance.

We're debating whether or not to use our meager emergency fund to pay down the credit card...not sure, will have to keep thinking about that and make a decision once we have an accurate balance at the end of the month.

Water bill is going up by a couple of pounds as of next month but now as we have only one pet, insurance costs will come down so our budget won't have changed too much. We're keeping the monthly amount that we save for the dog[STRIKE]s[/STRIKE] the same until the end of the year as we're going away for a few days at Christmas time and the savings should pay for kennel costs. In January though this will likely be halved, saving us about £25 a month.

Off to the post office now to get a huge bundle of eBay parcels posted.
  • so so sorry about the dog, have 2 old girls myself.

Better news on the ebay front, it can be a real lifesaver.
