                    Hi
I`m moving back to the UK in a few months after 9 years in Spain and wish to rent a UK house, I`m concerned I will not pass credit checks as I have never had credit in Spain ,I purchased my house for cash and only have a current bank account here with no credit cards.
Anyone had experience of this?
If they cant find any credit info on me would it be acceptable/normal for landlord accept 3 or 6 months up front?
Thanks In Advance.

In circumstances such as yours and provided that you could show me evidence of having spent a long time in Spain (utility bills, bank statements etc.) and that you had sufficient income in the UK (which I'd also want evidence of) then I would accept 6 months up-front and let to you.If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me! 0 0

We returned from the US after spending 5 years there and we secured a rental with a reference from my husbands employer and the rent and deposit up front.0

I occasionally let to non-UK residents, and ask for six months' rent up front and a large deposit. In my case, the Ts have been post-grad students at a well known university, so I ask for evidence of that, too.
If you were seeking to let from me, I'd do a credit check anyway (to look for CCJs), ask for six months' rent up front, proof of income/employer or accountant's reference, and perhaps ask for a UK-resident home owning guarantor if you had no proof of income. Your 'story' would also have to add up; for example, I once had a T claim to be a yoga instructor but she wanted to rent a flat in the heart of central London miles from where she said she taught yoga. It lead me to suspect that she planned to use the flat as a venue for private classes, and I refused her offer.0
