  • You should be entitled to kinshipcare, which is paid at the same level as a foster carer would be paid less the child benefit, if you ask here they will be able to tell you how to go about it.

If you qualify for housing benefit you'll become eligible for free school meals too for those of school age.
^^^ This isn't correct if the OP is getting WTC they can't claim free school meals.

Mooloo still cant claim Child Benefit for her DGD so I do not think it's wise to judge.
Is that because she is still getting payments from SS, once those payments stop then she can claim CB and CTC.

What ids the legal status of the children - do you have a residence order? What benefits do you claim?
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

It's less CB and CTC - the OP hasn't said yet what they are claiming or what the legal status of the children is - Residence/SPecial Guardianship

Six children in the house and you can't afford to keep them warm through the coldest winter we have had for years? Even with 3 children (if your own kids are actually adults), child benefit pays enough to buy plug in fan heaters and electric radiators if you can't come up with enough for oil.

    I'm shocked.
thanks!!!!! i would be unable to afford to run the appliances you have recommended...... the children were well looked after well fed and kept warm with layering of clothes. We have nowhere to burn wood etc (mentioned in your later post). It didnt mean to annoy anyone i was just asking for help and advice.... If i gave my job up i would be better off financially and would be able to apply for assistance for costs such as oil, but i choose to work and set a good example.... and struggle....

hi we are not entitled to kinship payments in fact it is at the discretion of the local authority if they pay kinship payments and ccc do not often grant these payments..... i have pr for the children but not residency of gaurdianship... the childrens father has refused to let us have residency and has said he will fight through the courts to prevent this
