i applied and now is showing on my portfolio (online area showing other accounts with them)...
got card through - which is £100 cheque garuntee as well..
got pin next day...
but... no cheque book? which is odd as im thinking i cant gaurantee cheques without a cheuqe to write?
and on the bit on my balance on the portfolio online says £100 (minimum to open the account)... near this is "overdraft limit - £0.00"
i thought this account was £2750 ?
basically its been nearly a week and im just wondering how long before its fully up and running etc... with all the features it should have?
not had much experience of opening accounts so dont know what to expect and how long these things take.

I had to fill in a big overdraft application form with Natwest before they granted me the overdraft, I also had to give them a copy of a letter confirming im a student.
Its only been a week, RoyalMail arent the best so give it i'd say about 10 working days and then contact the bank.0 -
thanks...
i had to show them my NUS card as proof of student..0 -
they probably dont issue cheque books automatically, all about saving money. If you phone, or go into a branch they will get one sent out for you.0

With regards the overdraft, once you have paid in the #100 to activate the account, they usually give about 500 quid as an overdraft. When the account has been up and running a while, you can apply at the branch to have the overdraft limit reviewed, and the MAX is 2750 and is not guaranteed. They want to see how the account is running before they extend the overdraft.0

right - ive got more than the £100 (about 200ish) in...
will wait and see if they do anything automatically soon before i contact them.0 -
The won't just give the the full overdraft like that! You need to specifically ask (more like demand) them to give you an overdraft! And even then, its likely you'll only be given £500 to start with. I've managed to get mine raised to £1500 since opening it this September. I plan on asking for an extra £500 every couple of months until I get the full amount, however they do say no. I got turned down an increase to £1500 a few weeks after opening it, and I have never being denied credit before, but they base their decisions on their own little criteria, such as how long you've had the account with them, and how much money is going in on a regular basis, not soley on your credit history, so be prepared to have to wait a while before getting the big 2750
