Donation bag from charity removed from the register - a scam?

We received a bag and donation card asking for clothes and I was a bit suspicious as the charity is not named. I just looked up the number (287899) and this is for a charity from a different area that has been removed from the register (reason being "does not operate"). Is this some kind of scam? I'm not sure how much money they could get from some old clothes but maybe there's some scam I'm unaware of!
Would people suggest we save our stuff for the next, genuine bag that comes through the door?

I always wait for the British Heart Association bags as I know they're genuine and they're the only ones (in my limited experience) who can be relied on to pick the stuff up when they say they will.0 -
If you're unable to take to the charity shop of your choice, if you have a good amount to donate the charity may collect if you contact them.0

Thanks. We do get quite a few bags through the door though so that's not a problem in our case. I just wondered if anyone had had a similar thing with dodgy-looking bags and whether they thought it best to avoid this one in particular.0

Avoid them all, and take to the charity shop. Even the companies that are legitimately working with a charity take a large potion of the profits. Of course the one you have is a scam.0
