Hi
I was going to buy a samsung galaxy s2 and have since found out a new model is out with NFC in June,(allowing you pay by contactless technology like the barclays ads).
My question is: do existing credit card payment readers in pubs and clubs, etc have this built technology in already?
If not then its of no or little use for this purpose as yet - isnt it?
and if that is the case i may as well hold off for another year.
Any thoughts......
TIA

Like many Barclays customers, I have a contactless (credit) card and have never seen anywhere that takes it and I'm dying to try it! IMO, it's only in it's infancy so I would hold off for now? The thing is with technology nowadays though, it only needs a take up from a major player or a stroke of luck for it to take off - take Android phones as an example.
I'm not sure that it's a reason on it's own to buy a phone though, unless the new model also offers something else in addition?0 -
Pret a Manger have the contactless points in many of their London shops now0

I didn't realise a newer model was coming out in June, I have just purchased this phone and I'm very very happy with it. I can highly recommend it. Talking Tom app is great for keeping the wee ones amused.
