Can anyone recomend a book club?

Or are they all a con!!!
I keep seeing these introductory offers of 6 for a £1 etc and really want to stock up on books and i normally buy a few throughout the year. Are they worth it?
Who should i avoid and who should i look at?!

Hi,
Stay well clear of the 6 for a £1 type as you then have to buy x amount of books within 12 months at full price. Examples of these companies are World Books, Mango and BFC.

I really recommend https://www.thebookpeople.co.uk as there is NO obligation at all to ever buy any other books and the prices are great

and I also recommend http://www.bookgiant.co.uk/ when I joined I had to buy 3 books within a year ( I think, but check this hasn't changed) but the books are reduced so that was no problem at all. They've got a deal on at the moment for buy one get one free on books and the prices are very reasonable usually anyway. Hope that helps

I'd steer well clear of any book clubs that ask you to commit to 4, 6 books a year etc .... from previous experience "never again"!

I too can recommend The Book People. Their prices are amazing and delivery is usually very quick too.

Postage is around £3.95 (?) but if you can put the order in your mum/dad's

name and pay them back, the postage is £1.50.

Schoollink - a division of "The Book People" have some great sets- particularly for children, and cooks. Go to https://www.schoollink.co.uk. Often has Rebus novel collections and Booker shortlist selections. Well worth having a nosy and no club, no commitments. Have used extensively for my avid reading children. Most towns have 'remainder' bookshops which are worth a look - though they probably won't have the latest blockbusters.

And don't forget the public library. You can request any book there and they will get it from another library if they haven't got it.

I order books all the time - The Book People are fantastic - free delivery over £25 and as they are not a club, there is no commitment to buy anything else. If you are looking for children's books, then Red House are also extremely competitive, and you get free delivery if you order four books or more. Again, no commitment to buy anything else. I've never placed big orders with The Book People but I've never paid delivery either as loads of codes in the discount board, highly reccomend!

te book people are def ood as thhere is no commitment, i buy most of my books from tesco as chart books are £3.73 a bargain i think
