Gas/Electric/Simply Switch

For years I have resisted high pressure door sales and stuck to British Gas and Southern Electric then recently phoned Simply Switch and took up their recommendation to have British Gas Click Energy. That is in the process of going through. Today Had phone call from Southern Electric asking why I was leaving and when I said about Click Energy they told me that prices had just been increased so I went back to Simply Switch and they are now saying N Power will be best but how do I know they will not be increasing their prices.
As a 65 yr old pensioner I am well aware how I have to watch my budget but really not convinced about these changes. I am confused an a little upset and think it best to stay with my old providers. Better the devil you know etc.
Any advice please??

Click energy prices are still going to be around 10% cheaper than BG's standard rates so you should still be saving money, although not as much as you thought. Going back to BG standard rate for gas and Southern for electric will be your most expensive option. It may be worth switching again, or if you don't want the hassle of switching regularly consider going for a supplier which regularly comes out fairly cheaply such as Scottish Power.0
