Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you knew if it was safe to freeze pate? We're off to france next week and the pate I love I can only get there. Is it safe to freeze?
Any help would be fab before I manage to posion myself :rolleyes:

freezing this is very dodgy. As you are not heating the product once defrosted it will not kill any bacteria that may have grown in its first outing. Freezing doesn't kill all bacteria due to spore forming in certain strains.
If you are freezing then:
1 - only do so with a vacuumed pack that has not been opened
2 - do so when purchased and not a week later
Defrost in fridge only for 2 days.

Try slicing it and freezing the slices (well wrapped) for quicker defrosting.
