How do you melt chocolate?

I put the chocolate in a Pyrex bowl, put that on top of a saucepan of just-boiled water, with the heat turned off. Wander off for a bit, then remember what I was doing, and it's about ready by then.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I got one of these from IKEA and its perfect to sit over a saucepan and melt my chocolate, its easier to use than a pyrex bowl too as it has a handle.

Thanks a lot everyone!
I used my pyrex measuring jug in the microwave. Did it in short blasts so it took a while. I'll have a think and maybe invest in the double boiler as it requires less effort. But until then... pyrex!0 -
I usually do it in a plastic bowl over a pan of water, the bowl hasn't melted or anything! Also depending what you are making, a smidgin of butter in with the choc can help make it a bit glossier.
xThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...
