Hope your stomach has stopped hurting, I had a better sleep last night, no heartburn! must have been all the milkshakes I drunk yesterday, seem to be craving them at the moment :) yum yum

Gonna see if my friend will wax my eyebrows today, they really need doing! but other than that I have no plans for the day, will do the usual kitchen clean up and the dreaded bedroom!

This horrible cold is making me a bit icky but i'll survive!

Hope your midwife appointment goes well :)

  • Hi ya bella, wellI didn't sleep well and have woken up in the foulest of moods, not for any particular reason, so am only posting now my mood has lifted slightly.

I have just been to see the midwife and it went really well, mostly because my normal midwife was ill (shame) so I had another lady who was really nice.

I asked her what to do if I was early (one of my biggest worries), she showed me the number I need to ring, and that a first labour usually takes 18 hours, so even if OH was away I would have more than enough time for my stepmum to get me and take me to hospital etc etc.
She said my bump is growing nicely and measured it, and had a feel around for the baby, and she thinks, shes not sure, but she thinks its head down, which is where I want it to stay!! Everything looks normal, she even looked at the 4d scan pictures. So feel much much better about it all :)

Still feeling rather grumpy, think I might need to have another snooze in a bit x

Awwww hun hope your feeling better soon! I have horrible moods for no reason too :( think its one of the joys of pregnancy!

Glad your feeling more at ease, i'm a bit worried about time to if anything started with me it would take OH at least 45 minutes to get home thats just travelling time, but a group of them get taken each morning so he would have to arrange for the driver to bring him home so i'm looking at, at least an hour, plus once he has picked me up i'm looking at about 45mins to get to the hospital but i'm trying not to think to much about it I just worry I wont know its the real thing and leave it to late lmao plus inbetween all this I have to sort out DS getting picked up etc

Not to worry though I have cleaned the kitchen but thats it, am considering a little snooze myself :) try to enjoy your afternoon xx

  • I'm not liking feeling grumpy I have been so so happy up til now, don't know whats up, I'm not horrendously grumpy just not as happy as I was, think I'm bored and unmotivated and a little bit lonely as have only seen doctor and dentist since saturday.

See thats my worry Bella, my stepmum and dad live 45 mins away, with faffing thats an hour, thats if they're not at work, stepmum wouldnt be able to find her way here without my dad and my dad works 45 mins away from their house in the opposite direction! Then its another 25mins from my house to the hospital. What I can see happening is just ringing for a taxi as the rank is only 5 mins up the road and telling dad and stepmum to meet me there.

Have my bag more or less packed although I still need to get some bits, it is workable for now, but could do with putting more stuff in it. Not sure whether to get PJs or a maternity nightie, as I'm always super hot, where does cheapest maternity nightwear in dark colours hun? Need some cheap towels too as all of ours are white!! Could do with thinish ones too so that they fit in the case, it is rather full! And what size baby clothes are you taking to the hosp? And how many, I have tiny baby, newborn and 0-3, should I take 3 of each, or is that too many? I really have no idea.:(

Missy, i would really just take what you need for labour anda afterwards, including a towel and nightie. If you forget anything or need anything else, im sure someone come bring them up for you. When i read up on what to take in my bag, some lists put 7 sleepsuits, 7 bodysuits, 7 pairs of socks etc etc. People will be there for you if you need anything, so try not to worry too much

Thanks mandz my lovely, I just overly worry as OH isn't here, and I dont want to have to panic about not having enough stuff and having to get my stepmum or someone to go looking for stuff at home as they would have no clues where to start looking. I am a lot more organised than I think I'm sure, just looking at maternity nighties online, crikey they're expensive and I have no idea what size I'll need....

You seem to have the same worries as me missy :( like midwife says 1st babies usually take a while to come :)

In terms of maternity nightwear I think you should be OK with just normal nighties in a bit of a bigger size so primark, matalan, asda usually have plenty of choices, with it being Autumn now the darker colours should be coming in soon.

Babies clothes I'm taking 4 newborn sleepsuits, a couple of vests, a couple of hats, pair of scratch mits, a cardigan and a blanket. That would be more than enough to keep you going for a while and for OH/family to go home and get more if you need to stay in :) you can always have a few more of each size in a bag to leave at home that can be ready for picking up if need be.

HTH hun i'll be back later need to go pick OH up :)

    xx

Hey missy, was just catching up on some of your thread.

Hope you're feeling a little cheerier though with our hormones all as they are then it's not surprising you're feeling down. I had my grumps last week, think it helps that I've now finished work!

As for my hospital bag it looks like I'm going on hol for a week! We live a good 30 minutes drive from the hospital (without traffic) so wanted to have all I needed. I've packed 5 vests and 3 sleepsuits in newborn and 2 potential outfits to come home one in tiny baby which I think goes up to 7lb and one in new baby which goes up to 10lb. And a little cardi and a blanket. Think that's it for baby...

I got PJ's from mothercare as they had a sale and all sale items were buy one get one free. Hope that helps.

    xx
